About Us

We are Mike and Roger, two friends in our early forties with a keen interest in cycling who are planning to ride about 340 miles in 4 days from Fishguard in West Wales to Felixstowe in Suffolk.

Mike has been cycling seriously since 2006 when he bought his first road bike, a Specialized Allez, and took part in the BHF London to Brighton ride. He's since ridden regularly at the week-ends and cycles to work most days of the week.  In 2010 and 2011 he rode the Wiggle Dragon Ride.  A milestone birthday in 2011 resulted in an upgrade to a Van Nicholas Euros Titanium framed road bike but it's yet to see the kind of long rides done on the Allez over the years - hopefully that's about to change.

Roger has only recently been converted to road bikes, the dark side as he originally called it. Since buying his Van Nicholas Mistral in Summer 2012 he has become addicted to the speed of skinny tyres and regularly does 50 miles around the Suffolk lanes.  Roger also cycles to work and still keeps in with the MTB crowd riding around Tunstall and Rendlesham forests on one of his two titanium mountain bikes.

We both currently live in Ipswich which is near Felixstowe and Mike was brought up in Goodwick across the valley from Fishguard.  So the idea is to drive a hire car to Fishguard, stay overnight with Mike's parents and then ride home.

What could possibly go wrong ?

  1. I wouldn't want to give the impression I'm a titanium snob. But I suppose that is accurate. However, just for the record, the other MTB is in forced-retirement after 15 years.
